The Ad-Hoc Strategic Planning Committee was established by the Board of Directors to help develop a long-term vision for Big Bass Lake. Through member surveys, town hall meetings, and ongoing committee discussions, the committee is working to identify the priorities, opportunities, and challenges facing our community. Our goal is to provide thoughtful recommendations that will help guide the future of Big Bass Lake while ensuring that member voices remain at the center of the process.
This page will serve as a resource for committee updates, presentations, and other materials as the strategic planning process moves forward.

In the spring of 2026, members were invited to participate in a community-wide survey to help identify strengths, concerns, and priorities for Big Bass Lake. Responses provided valuable insight into member experiences and perceptions across a variety of topics, including facilities and amenities, communication, governance, recreation, and the overall direction of the community.
The survey results were presented at the June 2026 Town Hall Meeting and serve as an important foundation for the committee’s ongoing work.
Dear Members,
Since the Strategic Planning Committee first met in January, our focus has been on listening. Through the community survey (with 317 responses), Town Hall meeting, committee discussions, and other member feedback, hundreds of ideas, concerns, and aspirations have been shared. We appreciate the time and thought so many members have contributed to this process.
Throughout our discovery and analysis, several broad themes have consistently emerged from the feedback received. These themes are not recommendations or decisions, but rather areas that members have identified as important to the future of Big Bass Lake:
The committee is currently evaluating each of these themes and digging deeper into the ideas, concerns, and opportunities within them to better understand how they can be most effectively addressed. At the same time, we have begun our SWOT analysis, examining Big Bass Lake’s strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats to better understand both internal factors and external influences that may affect the community over the next five to ten years.
Following this work, the committee will begin exploring potential approaches and their feasibility within each theme. This phase will help us better understand opportunities, constraints, and tradeoffs before moving toward specific recommendations.
After the initial feasibility work for each theme is complete, the committee will begin drafting recommendations and developing implementation plans that can serve as a roadmap for the future of Big Bass Lake.
Throughout this process, transparency and member engagement remain priorities. We invite everyone to come to our next Town Hall meeting on June 20th at 12:00pm at the BBLCA Clubhouse. Members can also participate via Zoom. Look for that announcement in the coming days.
Thank you again to everyone who has participated so far. Your input continues to shape this process and will help guide the future of our community.
Sincerely,
The Strategic Planning Committee
